I’m currently having a fire sale of all my custom computers and phones. As much as I love them, recent events and the fact that I never use them has me getting rid of all but my gaming machine and FSX rig. That’s roughly six computers, six phones.

I’ve sold off both the brand new Honor 8 and my lightly used Nextbit Robin. Though, unfortunately that money was immediately lost in paying $500 to the State to pay off toll violations. Apparently my parents never pay toll when driving their GMC. Since it’s in my name, my license is the one threatened to be suspended. And of course they weren’t going to pay it. Ugh. New goal for this month, transfer the title to my parents...or if necessary, my brother.

My unfinished dual socket sleeper build was getting a lot of attention on Facebook. I had all the parts, but I never found the time to put it all together. One desperate buyer told me he didn’t have any cash, however he had something else I’d want. He tried offering me old iMacs and other stuff I’d end up having a hard time flipping for profit. I joked and said “look, unless you want to trade a motorcycle, I only want money”.

And...he delivered.

This is a 2005 Honda Rebel CMX250. The tyres are worn, the turn indicators are loose, and the tank is beat up, but it’s all there and it runs beautifully well.

The first thing I did was remove the windscreen and gave it a light cleaning.

Then I took it home.

I don’t know what to do with it. It’s a really fun bike and it’s a ball around town. It’s a liiiiittle slow on the highway. So far, I call her “Velma”.

also, seriosuly, you need to stop giving you parents cars/money/ and letting them walk over you. this is getting ridiculous.

eyyyy, I have one of those. Shockingly fun little things to toss around. Mine doesn’t have 2nd gear or a title so it’s just kinda sitting.

The GMC is their vehicle. I only own it through some mishap that happened at the secretary of state. Sadly, I had to pay this time as the tollway authority and the sec of state were warning me of a pending license suspension. I can’t trust they’ll pay it in time.

This month I’m getting the title transferred into their names, I want nothing with that thing. And if they don’t want to, fine...I’ll sign the title over to my brother.

I know! The guy gave me everything, even the original owner’s manual. It was definitely stored outdoors and uncovered, so I’ll need to lube some things, too.

I love the bike. I agree you absolutely about your intent to get your name off that GMC title. You don’t need the overhead, or the liability of a car used by others and not in your possession.

You sound like a kind person and it’s generous of you to loan the GMC out. But letting others drive your car is like loaning out your credit card. If you want to help, give them cash. You don’t need the sheriff at your door someday which is where this is headed.

It’s time to give your parents the car, walk away with the plates and let them carry the risk. If you need to pay for the registration, do it. You have to look after yourself before you try to look after others.

For a smile, here’s my Honda. Now go transfer that GMC!
